Routine Exams, X-rays & Cleanings

The best way to protect your teeth is to prevent problems from starting. That is why all our patients are urged to make and keep regular preventive dentistry visits. These routine appointments include thorough cleanings, x-rays if needed and periodic exams to evaluate for developing issues, such as caries (cavities) or periodontal disease. We are a fully digital practice, which means all x-rays taken are extreme low radiation exposure, less than being in the sun for 10 minutes. Each preventive dentistry appointment also includes an oral pathology exam to make sure there are no signs of developing precancerous lesions or oral cancers.

Best of all, preventive dentistry is not just for teens and adults – it is perfect for children, too! Our doctors and team have treated toddlers and kids for decades, and love introducing them to compassionate, warm, painless dental care in our state-of-the-art office.

Periodontal & Gum Disease Treatments

Gum disease is a problem that is common for adults across the nation. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that almost half of all Americans age 30 and above have a type of periodontal disease. Gum disease is treatable but takes education and maintenance to prevent it from worsening. Get the most comfortable results from Montgomery General Dentistry. Natural Looking Tooth-Colored Fillings, Crowns & Bridges

Have a bunch of metal in your mouth? Today, we use composite materials for fillings, and ceramic for dental crowns. These products are highly reliable and durable. Plus, they look just like regular teeth! Because they mimic the way a tooth appears and functions, you never have to worry about “standing out.” All people will notice is how incredible your smile looks!

Do you have teeth that are cracked? Decayed? Broken? Jagged? If the teeth are otherwise in decent condition, we may recommend treating and covering them with ceramic crowns.

Ceramic crowns are essentially caps that fit snugly over your teeth. This process is not a new procedure, but the use of ceramic is a modern alternative to metal-based tooth crowns. Not only is ceramic more aesthetically appealing, but it is also great for patients who have metal allergies. Plus, it bonds smoothly with the hard tissues of your teeth.

Cosmetic Dentistry & Smile Makeovers

You do not take the way you look lightly, and neither do we. That is why we offer complete smile makeovers at our dental office. Patients request smile makeovers for numerous reasons:
• They have lost all or most of their teeth, and are ashamed of the way they look.
• They have been in an accident that has affected the way their teeth and gums look.
• They have not received proper dental care during their lifetime, resulting in teeth that are decayed, damaged, discolored, cracked and/or broken.
• They are living with painful, swollen and bleeding gums.
• They have teeth that are severely crooked or misaligned.
• They have experienced dental challenges caused by medical issues and/or the medications they took for those issues.
Every smile makeover given at Montgomery General Dentistry is customized due to the very personalized nature of this type of dental treatment. During your full mouth rehabilitation exam and consultation with our doctors, one or more of the following treatment suggestions may be discussed:

• Laser gum surgery
• Dental crowns and bridges
• Composite fillings
• Porcelain veneers
• Dental implants
• Bone grafting
• Tooth extractions
Porcelain veneers are one of the best kept secrets to a straighter, more even smile. How does the procedure work? When you come in for a consultation, our doctors will evaluate your oral health to determine if porcelain veneers are your best option. Most candidates for porcelain veneers have one or more of the following complaints:

• The front teeth are just slightly crooked.
• The front teeth are permanently discolored.
• The front teeth are cracked or broken.
No matter why you want to improve your appearance, we encourage you to call us at 513.794.1884 to talk about a smile makeover. We have many treatment options and surgical interventions at our disposal to help.New Paragraph

Implants and Implant Restorations

Dental implants are highly regarded as the preferred method of tooth replacement, and for good reason. Implants replace both the root and crown portions of the teeth, restoring function to your bite and esthetics to your smile. In addition, the post of the implant helps maintain jaw bone health each time you chew – a benefit that does not occur with other forms of tooth replacement. Getting a dental implant will not only help you look better, but can help you avoid future issues and complications.
While it may seem unimportant to have missing teeth, it is actually a problem that should be resolved. When you are without a natural tooth, several things can begin to go wrong:
• You may have trouble speaking or eating.
• You may develop periodontal disease.
• The teeth around the missing tooth may begin to shift.
• Your bone density will deteriorate in the area of the missing tooth.
• You may feel embarrassed about the way you look, and suffer from lowered confidence.
• You may start to lose other natural teeth.
At Montgomery General Dentistry, we often recommend dental implants for single missing teeth and implant supported dentures for patients who are missing a complete arch of teeth.

Implant supported dentures are dentures that are securely anchored in your mouth thanks to dental implants placed within the bone at several key spots. The dentures lock into place and do not move. This means your dentures will not fall out, slip or loosen while you go through normal daily activities.

Oral Sedation & Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Many people are afraid to go to the dentist. Whether they have dental anxiety because of a past experience, or they simply do not like the way traditional dental offices look, sound and smell, their fear often keeps them from getting dental care. To help combat this issue, we offer sedation dentistry. Sedation dentistry uses advanced methods to increase the comfort level of patients who suffer from the feelings associated with dental anxiety. There are several types of sedation dentistry that we offer at Montgomery General Dentistry, including local anesthetic (numbing) along with nitrous oxide and oral sedation.
Nitrous oxide produces a calming feeling when it is inhaled. One of the biggest advantages to using this type of sedation dentistry method is that its effects stop as soon as the nitrous oxide is turned off. Children can safely use nitrous oxide, too, making sensitive or nervous pediatric dental patients less anxious about coming to the dentist.
Some of our patients choose oral sedation dentistry as their sedation method of choice. Oral sedation dentistry involves taking a prescription pill about an hour before the procedure begins. The medication – we use Triazolam– promotes calmness. It works very effectively, but because it is considered a heavier sedative and does not wear off rapidly, you will need a driver to bring you to and from your appointment.

Cosmetic Whitening/Bleaching

We offer services including several tooth whitening options for every budget, along with product offerings and recommendations for power toothbrushes, floss and prescription toothpastes to help maintain your perfect smile.

We also provide other general dental services including:
• Clear Braces & Aligners
• Root Canals
